Cloud-native IoT trailblazer looks beyond connectivity with emphasis on AI and the enterprise

Soracom, Inc., a global provider of advanced IoT connectivity solutions with full MVNO capability, today announced the evolution of the company’s global vision and mission.

Speaking from the keynote stage at Soracom Discovery 2025, Soracom CEO and Co-Founder Ken Tamagawa reflected on 10 years of growth as he announced the company’s new global mantra: “Making Things Happen, For A World That Works Together.”

Over years of working to help customers in healthcare, retail, payments, agriculture, energy, transportation, and more to launch and scale new connected experiences, the company has evolved from its original mission of providing technology-forward, cloud-native cellular connectivity for IoT to become a full partner in empowering customers to create new applications, improve user experiences, and increase enterprise value.

Soracom was founded in 2015 by a small, entrepreneurial team with deep experience in cloud services and telecommunications. In its early years, the company focused on the IoT connectivity needs of technically sophisticated innovators and startups with cloud-native, pay-as-you go services designed to support accelerated release cycles without long-term commitments. This initial focus on individual IoT developers and small teams was reflected in Soracom’s original tag line, “You Create, We Connect.”

In recent years, Soracom has extended its connectivity offering to deliver leading-edge solutions including eSIM, iSIM, 5G, and satellite, enhanced its connectivity management platform to include new GenAI-based network management and data analysis capabilities, grown to serve multiple deployments of more than 1 million devices, and expanded its portfolio of customers and partners to serve global enterprises across industries including Hitachi, Nicigas, Sony, Suzuki, Toyota and more.

“Soracom was founded as a catalyst for innovation. That began with making connectivity accessible to innovators in IoT, and continued as we integrated hyperscale platforms, public cloud resources, and nonterrestrial connectivity,” said Kenta Yasukawa, Soracom CTO and Co-Founder.

“More recently, Soracom has begun to establish itself as a real-world AI super connector, making GenAI capabilities easily accessible to IoT networks, device data, and even offline data pools. Even as our scope expands to uncover the intelligence in things, our mission remains the same: delivering emergent technology directly into the hands of the companies and teams creating new experiences today. Together, Soracom, our customers, and our partners are truly Making Things Happen.”
